Instructions for Use of Kan-go Wrap for Skin-to-Skin Care

nursing. Place the baby
inside the vest for skin-toskin
benefits or the vest may
be placed against the back
for Kangaroo Care as shown below.
- Put on wrap and cross the front pieces, putting one tie through the side opening, bringing ties around to
the front and loosely tying them.
- Place baby on your chest between your breasts with feet inside loose wrap.
- Pull the under piece tight to secure the baby’s head, then tighten the tie across the back, spreading the
fabric for comfort. Repeat this process for the top piece.
- Position the baby so that the crisscross of the garment is directly under the baby’s ear.
- Tie securely under the baby’s bottom.
- When the baby is ready to breastfeed, just pivot the baby inside the wrap and feed.
Steps to Receive the Benefits of Skin-to-Skin Care
- Infant is placed on Mom immediately after Birth and remains until after the first breastfeeding.
- Infant is held Skin-to-Skin 30 minutes before the second and third breastfeeding.
- Infant is held Skin-to-Skin a minimum of six hours a day for the first week.
- Infant is held a minimum of two hours a day for the second through fourth week.
It is recommended that the infant be held as much as possible in Skin-to-Skin Care for the first three months.
